Coronavirus Take-Home Review/Enrichment Packet Overview
In an effort to provide a "continuity of education" during these challenging times, the Apollo-Ridge Middle School is providing review and enrichment packets to every student in the middle school. The first packet was provided to every Middle School Student on Friday, March 13th (and was mailed to all students absent on the 13th). The second (and all subsequent packets) will be mailed home to each student. If for some reason you do not receive a packet in the mail, please call (724) 478-6000 ext: 2000 and leave a message with your name, student's name, and proper mailing address. Once we receive the message, we will mail out the packet as soon as possible. Please note that all packets and assignments are available online. On the left hand side of this page, you will see each grade level listed. Please click on the grade level you child is in to view the assignments they should complete while the school is closed.
As a building principal and as a parent, I can't thank the Apollo-Ridge School Community enough for the patience and understanding during these challenging and unprecedented times. The health and safety of all of our students and staff is paramount. We really are trying to provide the best possible education while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Governor, Department of Health, and the CDC. With that said, please be sure to stress proper hygiene to your child. Below is a list of just some of the preventative measures you can reinforce with your child to help prevent possible illness:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
- Wash your hands frequently using soap and water. Click here for a video on how to wash your hands properly.
- Shower daily
- Eat a healthy diet that includes both fresh fruits and vegetables
- Get at least 8 hours of restful sleep
