Apollo-Ridge Virtual Academy (A-RVA)
At the Apollo-Ridge School District, we understand that the traditional brick and mortar classroom is not always the best learning environment for every child. As children develop, their social, emotional, and academic needs will evolve and change. Therefore, we feel that providing online learning options for children is the best way to meet their varied needs. These options provided by the Apollo-Ridge School District give students and families a choice in the academic schedule and activities in which they participate. Students have the benefit of taking their core academic courses online, and have the choice to take electives such as fine arts, band, and other courses in the traditional classroom. The program gives students the ability to get a customized, online education while maintaining important social connections at school. Our knowledgeable counselors will help students and families develop a schedule that best suits the interests and needs of each child. Students who participate in A-RVA enjoy all of the benefits of being an Apollo-Ridge student while receiving a customized, student-centered education that meets their educational and social needs. Some of those benefits include:
- Participate in athletic and extra curricular activities offered at Apollo-Ridge
- Attend Prom/School Dances
- Participate in the Apollo-Ridge Graduation Ceremonies
- Participate in a "Hybrid" program (Some in-person classes and some virtual/cyber classes)
- Participate in the Apollo-Ridge Concert, Marching, and Jazz Bands
- Participate in the Apollo-Ridge Choir Ensemble
- Attend face to face tutoring (Tuesday's and Thursday's) at school
- Experience high quality, rigorous curriculum
- Allows for a seamless transition between our brick and mortar school (in-person classes) and cyber/virtual school
