COVID-19 Travel Guidelines Enforcement

The Apollo-Ridge School District is required to adhere to state mandates regarding COVID-19.  Pennsylvania recently started the implementation of certain travel guidelines.  These guidelines can be found on the state's website listed below:
These guidelines/mandates include:
  • Travelers entering Pennsylvania from other countries and states or Pennsylvanians who are returning home from other countries or states must have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the Commonwealth or quarantine for 10 days upon entry into Pennsylvania. If a traveler chooses to get tested upon entering the Commonwealth, or is waiting for test results, the traveler must quarantine for 10 days, or until receipt of a negative test result, whichever comes first.
  • Exceptions to this mandate include:
    • Individuals travelling to and from the Commonwealth for work;
    • Individuals travelling to and from the Commonwealth for medical reasons (including providing comfort and support to a patient);
    • Military personnel travelling to the Commonwealth by order or directive of a state or Federal military authority;
    • Individuals in transit through the Commonwealth to another destination, provided that the time spent in the Commonwealth is only the amount of time necessary to complete the transit, make use of travel services, such as a highway rest stop, or make necessary travel connections.
If your child falls under these travel guidelines, they will be required to quarantine at home.  However, students will still be able to continue to attend school VIRTUALLY during their quarantine.  If you provide the school with a negative COVID 19 test that meets the requirements listed above, your child may return to school before the 10 quarantine concluded.

If you have any questions regarding the travel guidelines issued by the state and how they relate to school, please feel free to contact the school at (724) 478-6000  ext:  2000 or email the principal at [email protected].
