School Closed - Flexible/Virtual Instruction Day - January 22, 2026

Due to continued hazardous weather conditions, the Apollo-Ridge School District will be closed on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

However, we will be utilizing a FLEXIBLE/VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION DAY.  You can also click HERE for the A-RMS/A-RHS Flexible/Virtual Instruction Day Plan.

Please NOTE
  • On Flexible/Virtual Instruction Days, teachers and staff will operate on a FID/VID 2 Hour Delay Schedule.  Click HERE to view the FID/VID 2 Hour Delay Schedule.
  • When utilizing FID's, Middle School/High School students and staff have a common 30 minute lunch from 11:20am-11:50am.  Everyone should eat lunch during that time.
  • Students can use 1st Period Group (High School Students) and 7th period (Middle School Students) to work on their Exact Path, Study Island, and other assignments that are due.  If they need additional help/tutoring/assistance, they can send a teacher a Teams Chat.
  • Attendance will be taken every period.  Students NEED to attend class virtually using the Teams Meet or Zoom links provided to them by their teachers each period and located in their individual Class Teams.
  • Due to software installation, SOME 8th grade students may not have their laptops today.  To complete the Flexible/Virtual Instruction day, students may use a personal device to complete the virtual instruction with their teachers.  If they (ONLY 8th grade students) do not have a different device to use, students will be given alternative assignments from their teachers the next day they have in-person instruction.  Please remember that this will ONLY apply to 8th grade students and only for today.  It is the expectation that ALL students attend their classes virtually during Flexible/Virtual Instruction Days.
At the beginning of the year, each parent notified the school if their child had internet access.  There were only a handful of parents that notified us that their child did NOT have access to internet.  Students that legitimately do NOT have internet will still need to participate meaningfully in the Flexible Instruction Day in order to be marked present.  Apollo-Ridge Middle School/High School teachers will provide a Flexible/Virtual Instruction Day virtual folder and download it to every student's laptop that will include either previously recorded lessons or supplemental lessons and assignments to each student that does NOT have internet.  This will ensure that instruction would be able to be provided to students regardless of their situation.  Each teacher will place 5 lessons/activities in a folder on each students laptop at the beginning of the year or when we begin to get close to exhausting all of our built-in "Snow Make-up Days".  The teachers will make sure that these contingency assignments will review previously taught concepts or provide downloadable video instruction of current and relevant concepts being taught at school.  These contingency assignments will be completed and submitted the next day they attend school or the next time they could connect to the internet and submit them electronically to their teacher.  Students that are working on the contingency assignments will have the ability to ask questions and get help when we resume school during our normal tutoring times every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00am-7:30am or they could get additional help by asking the teacher during 1st period (High School Students) or 7th period (Middle School Students) daily.

Finally, as a reminder to all parents:  teachers have shown and demonstrated to students how to access the Flexible/Virtual Instruction Day links and reinforced what the expectations are.  ALL students can easily access the Flexible Instruction Plan info on the A-RMS/A-RHS website and it is also accessible to ALL students on the Middle School/High Student Team.  They always can message or chat a teacher if they have any questions or are running into issues.  The teacher should get back to them relatively quickly.
