Apollo-Ridge Middle School students recently took part in a career exploration event aimed at helping them identify their strengths and interests. As part of the activity, students completed the Holland Code Interest Inventory, a tool that matches their personality traits with potential career paths.
The event, organized by the school’s guidance department, encouraged students to reflect on their skills and preferences in areas such as social interaction, problem-solving, and creativity. After completing the inventory, students learned about the six Holland Code personality types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.
Once each student took the interest inventory and received their Holland Code, students could research careers that matched their interest and select one that might interest them now.
This activity helps students begin thinking about possible future careers based on their own interests and strengths. It’s important for them to realize that there are many paths they can take, and their passions can guide them to a fulfilling career.
Students were excited to explore the different types of careers that matched their results, from healthcare and engineering to arts and business.
This career exploration activity not only sparked curiosity but also provided students with valuable insight into how their interests can shape their future professional lives. The event was a step forward in Apollo-Ridge Middle School’s efforts to support students in their academic and personal growth.
