The Leechburg Elks is taking entries from students for their annual Drug Awareness Poster & Essay contests in January 2024.
2023-2024 Theme: Be Kind to your Mind – Live Drug Free
The Poster contest is open to all 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students. Posters should be submitted ideally on 8 ½ x 11 inch paper. Judging will be based on closeness to theme, neatness, originality & correct grammatical structure. On the back of the poster, the student must include their full name, school, grade & Leechburg Elks name.
The Essay contest is open to all 6th, 7th & 8th grade students. The essay should be no more than 250 words, on 8 ½ x 11 inch paper and be either hand written or type. Judging will be based on closeness to theme, neatness, originality & correct grammatical structure. On the back of the essay, the student must include their full name, school, grade & Leechburg Elks name.
This year we are also continuing the Video contest as well. It is open to any student(s) K-12. The student/students may make a 2-5 minute video based on this year’s theme. Entries must be submitted on a flash drive in a readable video format in an envelope with each student’s name, school, grade(s) and Leechburg Elks name.
The deadline for all contests is Friday, January 26, 2024. Winners from each grade will receive a $25 gift card at an awards end of school year awards pizza party sponsored by the Elks.
