Taxonomy, Binomial Nomenclature, & The 6 Kingdoms

1st: Students will finish their Jelly Bean dichotomous key lab during the first half of class. After completing the lab, students will watch Billy Nye: Classification and completing a corresponding worksheet with it. This video will introduce the topics we will discuss Monday in class.

3rd & 8th: Students will finish their first section of notes for the classification unit; we will end with binomial nomenclature - each student will be required to complete the What's in a Name activity. Students will identify and name various birds that have been found on the Galapagos islands.

4th: Students will finish their naming activity during the first half of the class period. The students will complete their notes on the 3 Domains and 6 Kingdoms during the second half of class. Students will be given a review sheet that is directly related to their note packet and will be used as a study guide for their 1st test.

HOMEWORK: PLEASE BE ACTIVELY STUDYING!
