Inventory of traits and Genetics Vocab

-Students will begin class by tasting PTC paper; this paper shows dominant inheritance and is controlled by a gene on chromosome 7. This is a fun way to introduce inherited human traits.
-Once they have tested the PTC paper, the students will complete an inventory of traits activity where they will test to see what traits they have inherited from their parents. Examples include: detached earlobes, dimples, freckles, rolled tongue, hitch-hikes thumb.
-Students will wrap-up class by taking notes on their new vocabulary terms; we will use a PowerPoint that is located on my teams.
