Behaviors for S.A.P. Referral

- Changing friends; no longer spends time with old friends
- Unexplained physical injuries
- Talking about suicide
- Depressed
- Defying authority, both at home and at school
- Acting aggressively
- Lying
- Needing money without an explanation
- Sudden drop in grades
- Use of alcohol or other drugs
- Academic decline
- Disciplinary problems
- Frequent visits to the Nurse and/or Guidance Office
- Decreased attention span
- Overheard conversations about alcohol/drugs or parties where drugs/alcohol were present
- A student expressing concern or fear about a fellow student's use of mood altering substances
- Smell similar to marijuana or alcohol on a student or their belongings
- Observing a significant weight loss or weight gain
- Observing frequent trips to the restroom
- Withdrawing from family, friends and/or school
